Our Future

This sanctuary started out ridiculously small. It was a way to help a few farm animals in need find a safe place to live. But there are so many in need! How does one say no when you can make a difference? Slowly, more room was made to accommodate more farm animals in need. It is still a small sanctuary, but it has gotten bigger. It requires more work, effort, and money to keep the animals fed, healthy, clean, housed, and happy.

Looking forward, there are many projects to start contemplating if we are to grow and help more animals in need..... large and small! Many will require a lot of support to accomplish. As we start looking into these future endeavors, those ideas will be posted here to give you an idea of the scope and scale of what is needed to best perform our mission of providing safe sanctuary to all those we can!

We got a tractor & a pickup!

Many thanks to our wonderful donors who helped fulfill our first project!

As the sanctuary has grown, so has the amount of work that just cannot be handled manually! Run-ins need mucking out and debris need to be cleared out of paddocks. There is just so much work around a farm sanctuary that requires machinery to help! I was not planning for it to grow so fast to the point where the work was so much more than a few farm animals required was necessary, but it has! I am happy to do it, always. But I needed help!

Thanks to many wonderful donors on our GoFundMe for the tractor, we were able to raise a portion of the total price which has greatly helped to defray the amount of the monthly out of pocket payments.

Even more exciting, a pick up truck donation also came out of the campaign! A very well cared for 2003 Ram 3500 Quad cab was donated to the sanctuary which will be extremely helpful with many of the chores of the sanctuary such as picking up large amounts of grain and hay bales, as well as transporting animals as needed.

We are eternally grateful for our wonderful donors who made this all possible!

Future needs.

Dealing with farm animals means our needs are ever changing and growing! There are a couple of major improvements that are necessary. Redesigning and improving the fencing and paddock layouts to improve the safety of the animals and utilize the areas to the full advantage of the of the available space is a must as more animals come in.

Another major need will be the addition of a barn, or actually converting the very large garage into a barn. It is already being used for hay storage and has one small stall build inside for emergencies. All the food and grain is stored in there as well as the tractor right now. It would be a perfect structure to convert into an actual barn with proper stalls.
